Praise Report for May 18, 2003The first week is finished, having completed a Teacher Training Workshop with the Father's Heart teachers in Lusaka and a Sunday School Teacher Training Workshop with teachers and leaders from Fountain of Praise PAOG(Z) Church. The team has done excellent work and there are many happy teachers who have gained much from the teaching. Team Reflections: Praise the Lord! Thus far we have had an amazing trip. The teachers we have worked with are so eager and dedicated to their calling. It is truly a privilege to serve them at the onset of their careers, and to support them as they undertake the challenge of teaching needy children in resource strapped communities. Yet God has allowed us to be a part of the provision He has for them and the vision He has laid in their hearts. While I did not expect to be called upon to bring the word this morning in church, I experienced the Holy Spirit filling me with a word to share and leading me as I went. I truly praise Him for His faithfulness to His people and to me, as His servant. We truly serve an awesome God! Words are not sufficient. Michelle What an awesome week we have had seeing the operation at the Village of Hope and visiting with Ruth Kerr at the Bible School in Kitwe. We sat in on her class discussion on hiv/aids which is the crucial topic facing Zambians today. It was an honor to help train volunteer teachers who are so willingly working in community schools.Cheryl took us to a compound church for morning worship-the singing was wonderful. I'm looking forward to the week ahead and the blessings God has for us. Geri How privileged we are to be here in Zambia working with teachers and worshipping with dedicated believers who truly love and serve God in spite of the many hardships they face daily! We have been accepted readily and have witnessed enthusiasm and keen interest in the ideas and information we have come to share. It is also wonderful to be able to include the Gospel and use the Bible freely as we present teaching methods and techniques. Each day has begun with a time of devotion and ended with a prayer of blessing. Yesterday we were able to conduct a S.S. workshop in one of the Pastor's homes, enjoy a meal and fellowship with the participants who were eager to learn new ideas for future lessons and activities with their classes. The service today was indeed a blessing to each of us. Please continue to pray that God will use us while here and our efforts in the days to come long after we have returned to Canada. Monica
