Prayer Requests
- December 21, 2011 - Pray for my friend
- Good Morning!
Today I am asking you to pray for my friend, Elizabeth Sakala, the wife of Chief Bishop Harrison Sakala. She is facing surgery this afternoon for an ankle fracture.
After the "busyness" of a very beautiful wedding of their daughter Melody, they went away to Lower Zambezi for a short break. While walking to get something from the vehicle, Elizabeth slipped, twisted her ankle and fell, fracturing her ankle. She was brought back to Lusaka and taken to the Italian (Orthopedic) Hospital where she was told the ankle is fractured and surgery was recommended.
Please pray:
For guidance as the surgeons do their work. For quick recovery...Elizabeth is worried about not being able to go back to Bible College to finish her last year. For an end to pain and Blood Pressure complications. For Bishop Sakala and other family members as they also struggle with standing by a suffering loved one.

- September 19, 2011 - All is ready...
- "All is ready for tomorrow's election," was just heard on ZNBC news.
Yes, tomorrow is election day in Zambia. We trust all is ready and all will go well.
Yesterday in church we received a call to prayer. A 24 hour prayer watch was set up. We were divided into 4 groups (in the middle of the service, we actually numbered off; 1,2,3, and 4) and assigned to pray for 1 hour each day during one of 4 prayer watches,1) 6:00 AM to 12:00 noon, 2) 12 noon to 6:00 PM, 3) 6:00 PM to 12:00 midnight, and 4) 12:00 midnight to 6:00 AM. We were asked to pray till Friday because it is rumoured that problems may come post election.
We were reminded of the prayers of Daniel and his friends which changed the nation and told that our prayers could do the same.
Would you please take up with us the challenge of the prayer watch for Zambia?
We were asked to...
- say "No" to violence
- say "No" to evil intention
- speak PEACE
- pray for Law Enforcement
- pray for the Electoral Commission
- decide on PEACE
The setting up of this prayer watch was followed by a wonderful message admonishing us not to worry.
The lyrics of "Don't Worry, Be Happy" were read but we were told rather, "Don't Worry, God Cares!"
So we are not worrying but believing for PEACE because God Cares! Zambia has been a peaceful country and we do pray PEACE for the time of elections and the time following elections...that once the results come in they will be accepted in PEACE.
