Prayer Request for January 12, 2008HAPPY NEW YEAR to all! Again today I write with a sad heart and ask you for your prayers. This morning I attended the funeral of a 37 year-old mother of three. How sad it is to see that husband left alone to care for three children. Again, it seems as if it is malaria who has taken this dear one. We tend to think that with modern medicine, this shouldn't happen but all too often, it still does. Would you please pray for Dennis Mulenga and his three children that God would be their comfort in the days, weeks, and months to come and that they would find Him to be their reason for going on? Thanks for your prayers for safe travels to Malawi for retreat. It was great to have the Kerrs and the Paradis travel with me, making the journey seem to go faster. As always, we are thankful for a safe return home. Thanks too for your prayers for our retreat. We had a wonderful, refreshing time. Also, as always, it was good to meet with the other missionaries in the region. It was sad that most of our Zimbabwe missionaries were delayed a day because of flight difficulties but it was so good to have them with us. Please pray for these faithful soldiers who are living under very difficult situations at the present time. However, they are still very much assured that God has called them and God will provide and protect. As we had some joining us from Kenya, we were very much reminded to be in prayer for the country of Kenya and our missionaries and brothers and sisters in Christ there also. There was much rioting after the elections on December 27th. It seemed things were cooling down a bit but now it seems as if there is a resurgence of the rioting. Please do continue to pray for peace and stability in the country of Kenya and that the rioting would stop and that lives would be spared. Praise report...SMS just received from Pastor Mawele in regards to one of the church plants, started a couple years ago but was struggling. (We decided to send in a couple young church planters to help teach, rooting and grounding in The Word, with you helping to give them a little something each month to sustain them...Thank You!) "Calvary greetings. Blessed New Year to you. I was in Malakata for three days to bless the new revived church. It was a blessing to see people saved. Thank you for your support. May God continue to bless you in ABUNDANCE." Praise God for people saved! Blessings! Cheryl Ann
