Prayer Request for June 28, 2009Please pray for George Phiri who yesterday left on a journey to the Eastern Province. Although I have been looking forward to a trip to Eastern Province, George and I decided that the best way to get a clear picture of what has happened in the Agriculture Project while I have been gone was for George to go on a "surprise" visit. Cheryl Ann can't go on a surprise visit because she can't find her way into the schools! Many times I feel that the Zambian can get straighter answers than my white face, so this just seemed to be the best plan for this trip. Please pray that George will be protected on the journey and that he will be able to get a clear picture of how the Agriculture Project has progressed. Also I would ask you to pray about the financial situation of PAOC missions. Early in the week we missionaries received a letter from Murray Cornelius, the Assistant Superintendent for International Missions telling us of the recent marked decline in Missions giving and how some missionary budgets are severely struggling. I have felt extremely blessed that the budget funds have been coming in. However, I felt my first personal hit later in the week when I received an email from one supporting church saying because of decreased giving, they were finding it necessary to discontinue support of all "their" missionaries. Ouch! I'm sure it hurt them to write that as much as it hurt me to receive. Yes, I do recognize the financial struggles being faced worldwide but please pray with me that God's people will continue to fulfill the challenge of taking/sending the gospel to the entire world.
