Prayer Request for September 01, 2002Seems there are a lot of serious medical situations arising lately that certainly could benefit from a lot of prayer. Peter, the husband of Shaline, who is the Headmistress at the Newfoundland Agape School at the Village of Hope in Kitwe, Zambia has been hospitalized. He is paralysed on one side. They are not certain what is causing the paralysis but they are treating him for meningitis. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors and a touch from God. Fredah, who also works at the Agape School is in the hospital and has undergone surgery. Not sure, but it sounds as if she had an ectopic pregnancy. Please pray for a quick recovery physically, as well as emotional recovery. Fredah and her husband have been married for many years and still have no children so I am sure this has been very difficult on them. Yesterday when I went to the Garneton School in Kitwe to check into whether or not they would like the Seedlings program to continue in their school I met Katherine, one of the teachers. She was wearing a lumbar corset and told me of the difficulty she was having with her back. Of course, having suffered with back problems myself, I can always empathize with someone with back problems. She wanted to know my experience and then called her husband so I could talk to him also. In the middle of the school yard we held hands and prayed, asking God for a healing touch, relief from pain and that God would give direction so Katherine and Ackson would know what medical advice they should follow. Please pray along with us. This morning I got the news that Freddie, the fellow that lives across the street from the MET Center in Pretoria, South Africa and helps with a lot of the maintenance around the Center had a heart attack yesterday. Please pray that God would not only heal his body but his soul. John and Ruth Kerr, missionaries to Zambia have been home in Canada for vacation. We have recently received word that John had to have some surgery while home and will be delayed in coming back. Pray for a healing touch and a quick return. Classes start at Trans Africa Theological College on Monday, September 9th and John would be greatly missed if he is not here. With all these needs, it makes one take time to say, "Thank you Lord for my health." Truly I am grateful to God!
