Prayer Request for September 03, 2002Thank God for a safe trip back to Lusaka today. I have to admit that many times today I had to take authority over thoughts entering my mind about travelling the same road on which David Chibale met with his accident. We did see the vehicle at a police station on the way and stopped to ask some questions. We were told the accident happened yesterday around 1:30 PM. One of David's rear tyres blew and he lost control and the vehicle turned over two times. There were four people in the vehicle and David was injured most severely. Good samaritans stopped and took him to the hospital in Kabwe. Around 11:00 PM he was transferred from there to Lusaka. He underwent some type of surgery this morning and is recovering. Apparently he has remained conscious throughout, suffering a concusion, much bleeding from cuts as well as the ears and there is some problem with the neck and he is wearing a collar. David's wife and daughter were travelling with him as well as a person from Chipata who was catching a ride. The daughter escaped injury. The wife is hospitalized with some cuts and bruises but is up and around. I still am uncertain of details in regards to the other fellow. Please pray for wisdom for medical personnel, that nothing will be missed and correct treatment will be given. Also pray for decrease in pain and quick recovery. Pray for David's wife as she has to deal with pain, concern over her husband, as well as business dealings.
