Update for January 03, 2002Unbelievable but 2001 has come and gone! It has been a year of travels for Cheryl Ann Johnson. During 2001 I have worked in, travelled to, or past through: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Swaziland, Malawi, The Netherlands, The USA, and Canada. That's right! I ended the year in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. At the beginning of December getting a place to live, a vehicle to drive, and work to do all in the same place became near impossible. As the plans got wilder and wilder, I finally decided just to take a vacation. The travel agent worked hard and managed to get a ticket to Canada for a pretty good price so I surprised everyone and flew "home" for Christmas. This all came about one week before I flew. I emailed my Sister and she suggested we keep it a secret. So I have had fun seeing many surprised faces. It has been a might colder than Christmas in Africa but it has been a good time. I plan to return to South Africa January 14th 2002, when again I will get caught up on the MET bookkeeping. After that I hope to drive my new (used) vehicle from South Africa to Harare, Zimbabwe and then make the move to Lusaka, Zambia which is going to become home.
