Update for March 04, 2003The feeding program in the 13 Alpha Schools in Eastern Province is going to become a reality. Not as soon as we had hoped but it will happen. As I write, Gillian Rumney, MaryElla and Alan Minor are sitting on an airplane or in an airport on their way to Zambia. They will arrive in Lusaka tomorrow morning. Thursday morning we will head off to Chipata and then on to Lumezi on Friday. Friday, Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday we hope to visit as many of the 13 schools as possible in order to gather statistics necessary for the project proposal and to do nutritional assessments on the children so we will be able to monitor their progress as they receive daily food. Because of road conditions in this rainy season and lack of time we will not be able to visit all the schools but we hope to reach enough to find a large enough test group.
