Update for June 03, 2003

It is finished. The Teacher Training Workshops are finished and we are in Lusaka for a day before heading off to Victoria Falls in Zambia and Zimbabwe and on to Chobe Game Park in Botswana...if they let these SARS risk Canadians into the country that is!

This past week has been an excellent week in Kamtolo in Eastern Province with George Phiri and the teachers of the 13 Alpha Christian Community Schools. The teachers very much appreciated the teaching of Michelle, Monica, and Geri. I am so thankful that they have come to Zambia to do this work for the teachers.

It was a thrill on Saturday to include Living Faith PAOG(Z) Church in Lundazi in the Sunday School Teachers Training. They were so thrilled to have been thought of and included in this venture.

Sorry, you will have to wait awhile for pictures. I just don't have the time to wade through them and send them tonight. It is already past my bedtime and there is another long drive tomorrow, although over better roads than the last trip of over 1,500 km was! Keep your eyes open, they will be coming, along with some Victoria Falls pictures I hope.

TEAM REFLECTIONS - WEEK 3

A great week! We travelled the furtherst this past week to Lumezi and to Lundazi. The teachers we worked with were remarkable and eager. They are dedicated to serving their communities and their students, and for no salary at all. It was truly a privilege to work with people like this. I count myself as blessed to have been a part of what they will do to affect their communities and futures in Zambia.

We also stayed in a convent! In this area there was no electricity, and only occassional running water. It was a great expereince to live so simply and without "regular" conveniences. The sisters there were wonderful individuals. We now have new found friends all over Zambia! He is worthy to be Praised! Bless the Lord!

Michelle

It is amazing to me that the last three weeks have gone by so quickly.I have enjoyed the challenge of presenting teacher-training in an interesting way with the spiritual component.Attending a P.A.O.G. open-air service in an unfinished church was inspiring on Sunday.I am now looking forward to admiring Victoria Falls this week and returning home on Monday to family and friends. Thanks to all our prayer team members for your faithfulness.

Geri

How wonderful it has been to be in Zambia the past three weeks and to work with truly dedicated teachers who are doing their best in very difficult situations! Often as we travelled, I have found myself looking across the beautiful countryside, not only thanking God for the opportunity given to us but also praying that His blessing would flow through those we had worked with, so that they could inspire their students to seek first the kingdom of God, and secondly to rise to the challenge of doing great things for the betterment of their fellow Zambians and their country. Many needs do exist but we have seen great faith among the people and have truly appreciated their strong spirit.

Monica.
