Update for June 22, 2009What a privilege to be back in Zambia and enjoying the missionary family once again. Of course, it is always difficult to leave family in Canada but the positive side is to once again rejoin the missionary family on the field. Here in Zambia we are very privileged to work together with and fellowship with the American Assemblies of God missionaries. We work together, pray together, play together, and enjoy fellowship. We weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice. We continue to weep with Jerry and Paula Ireland whose baby was stillborn. Please continue to pray for them, that God would indeed heal the broken hearts. While asking for prayer, let me also mention John and Dawn Elliott who are at the end of an extended furlough in the USA, with a little bit more of their budget to be raised before they are able to return to the field. Please pray that the final commitments will come in so that they can book their tickets and get back to their work in Bible training here in Zambia. In the past week we have celebrated two wonderful joyous occasions. On the weekend we celebrated with Mike & Judy Santiago their 50th Wedding Anniversary and 50 years of ministry. For a few hours, in the luxury of the beautiful new Protea Hotel in Lusaka, we forgot we were in Zambia. We then continued the celebrations at the home of Al & Geneva Wright, with a beautiful cake and a few nice gifts and lots of good words for Mike & Judy. Today we celebrated with the Village of Hope, in the ground-breaking for the new Village of Hope, Chongwe. What a delight to see the joy and participation of the community, including many from the local government, the local PAOG(Z) Church, along with other churches visiting, school children, construction workers, and the community in general. There is great anticipation for the HOPE this village is going to give to many of the orphans in the area. What a wonderful privilege to be part of such a great family.
